What kind of computer programs would you expect to find in a rural school with a total enrollment of 150 students in the K-12 age range? Dietrich is a small town in south-central Idaho, about 32 miles northeast of Twin Falls. Many of the students are bussed in from surrounding farms. The town more than doubles in size when school is in session. Yet, at Dietrich High School, small though it is, computers play an essential role.
We experimented with computers as early as 198 1, and began to use them in earnest about five years ago. Since then, we have used every available resource to help us maintain a vital, contemporary curriculum that involves computers. We ...
