THE positive attitude of Cardiff City Council towards the Welsh language was emphasised yesterday by one of the city's deputy mayors, Coun Marion Drake, during a visit to the Eisteddfod. Coun Drake, a non-Welsh speaker born in the Rhondda, told me she was fully supportive of the Welsh language and was proud of the fact that within the city council she has responsibility for culture, which naturally includes the Welsh language.
