ABIX via COMTEX) -- Patrick Corporation and Toll Holdings rail joint venture Pacific National seeks discounts for rail access. Toll Holdings CEO, Paul Little, says that rail access charges account for 30 per cent of operating costs and remain the same regardless of how much or little freight is transported. He believes there should be discounts on rail access once freight volumes increase. Australian Rail Track Corporation managing director, David Marchant, says he has yet to receive a written proposal from Pacific National, but he would be interested in examining any plan put forward by the rail sector.
