ABIX via COMTEX) -- Western Australian winemaker Evans & Tate has confirmed it is talking with Cranswick Premium Wines about a possible merger. Evans & Tate said it was holding preliminary high-level discussions with the New South Wales winemaker. Evans & Tate said the discussions indicated it was eager to play a role in the consolidation of the wine industry. The independent winemaker said the discussions had led to a number of working options, including a merger and acquisition or an alliance, but any deal would require a thorough review.
