ArvinMeritor wants site rezoned for tech center
ArvinMeritor Inc. has requested rezoning of a site south of Fort Street between Rademacher and Waterman streets in Detroit for offices and a technical center.
The 81,000-square-foot building, expected to house 150 technical and professional employees, is to be constructed on the site of Southwestern High School's former running track. The building, which would house administrative offices, product testing and automotive research and development labs - would adjoin the 150,000-foot plant between Rademacher and Crawford streets.
