RECYCLED THROUGH CURBSIDE COLLECTION IN 1990
PITTSBURGH, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The state of Texas, with a land area of 262,017 square miles, is unlikely to run out of landfill space for many years to come. But that didn't stop the progressive state capital of Austin from launching a curbside recycling program in 1982, many years before recycling became a national issue, the Steel Can Recycling Institute (SCRI) said today.
