INNOCENTIVE Inc., the Eli Lilly and Company-backed Internet R&D venture (www.innocentive.com), has announced its first four "wet" chemistry solutions, as well as the participation of a Fortune 100 company as a solution seeker.
The first wet chemistry award, of $25,000, was made to a retired chemist, Werner Mueller, for submitting what InnoCentive calls a "breakthrough pathway" for the synthesis of 4-(4-hydroxyphenyl) butanoic acid. Mr. Mueller is the founder and president of CHD Technologies Inc., a process R&D company for agricultural and pharmaceutical intermediates.
