WASHINGTON--The Federal Communications Commission late Friday delayed the auction for the upper 700 MHz band (TV channels 60-69) until June 14, 2003, but will go ahead with an auction for the lower 700 MHz band (TV channels 52-59) as scheduled on June 19.

"I am well aware that there has been a late-inning legislative drive by the industry to change the law and remove the dates that have been leading us to conduct these auctions at this time.
