Infrared Curing Article Missing Some Facts
While definitely informative, Dave Corey's article [CircuiTree, April 2002, p. 94] fails to give your readers a complete picture of the advantages and disadvantages of IR curing versus hot air tunnel ovens.
Today, these ovens are the most reliable way to tack cure and final cure solder mask. However, the article implies that ACS invented IR curing. In fact, this technology has been around for many years. Our factory in Italy stopped making IR systems years ago to avoid the many processing problems.
