SchlumbergerSema's card-accepting parking meters have increased the Toronto Parking Authority's revenues at least 60% to C$75 million annually since workmen began installing the meters in downtown Toronto in 1999, George Levey, vice president of e-City, Schlumberger's Transactions Systems Division for North America, tells CardLine today. The 1,300 meters accept both coins and credit cards, Levey says. Payments by credit cards account for 40% to 50% of transactions, Levey says. "Parking rates in downtown Toronto are $1.50 per hour.
