Jun. 9--TAMPA, Fla.-- In commercial real estate offices around the Tampa Bay area, the phones have started ringing again.
It's a welcome sound.
For several months the phones were mostly silent as the sluggish economy and reaction from the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks forced many companies to put moving and expansion plans on hold, reducing business for the brokers who negotiate leases.
Some investors, affected by the same factors, put off buying and selling real estate, another blow for local brokers.
It started to look like there would be no new business coming along ...
