If naming people could seal their fates, the parents of Gabrielle Bakker and Gloria DeArcangelis hit it dead on.
Unlike contemporary monikers, these sound religious and epic. As if prophetic, they bind these Seattle women to relentless pursuits of art as arcane as their names. Like Sisyphus, whom Zeus punished with the eternal task of pushing a boulder uphill, they toil against obscurity, sentenced in the court of art.
