SEBASTIAN Faulks's family defines the sacrifices Britain made in two world wars.
His grandfather fought and was wounded in World War I, and was killed covering World War II as a journalist.
His father was wounded three times in World War II but survived. His mother also served in that war. ``My family's record is bog-standard for the British people,'' says the novelist with a string of best-sellers to his name.
