THE MAIN REASON I HATE politics is that the political goal of misleading the masses into uninformed votes is completely incompatible with my professional goal of informing the public.
It is true that not all of the news media share my goal. It is also true that I do not always succeed in getting the whole truth and nothing but the truth in print. But any failure is never deliberate, and it enrages me when I see or hear political statements that are willfully misleading.
