Distraught Dudley Square merchants burned out of their businesses were scrambling yesterday to come up with a plan to rebuild, as arson investigators continued their probe of the blaze.
Roger "Mr. G" Garvin, who lost his hair salon and beauty supply store, lashed out at Mayor Thomas M. Menino during a packed meeting, saying the city should have immediate funds available for displaced merchants.
"Everything that I worked for for 40 years is down the tubes. Right now, my business needs money. I have 30 employees and they need to have an answer today. These people have families and kids," said Garvin.
