At this year's World Watch and Jewellery Show (April 4-11) in Basel and the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (April 8.15) in Geneva a well-established trend was on display. Watchmakers and jewelers have historically stolen each other's thunder. A more recent development is that watch. makers are making jewelry and jewelers are producing watches.
Another more established underlying trend was also in evidence. Watchmakers continue to turn back the clock, so to speak, and look to classic timepieces to guide some of their new designs.
