BLACK and Asian communities need to take more responsibility for tackling rising youth crime, Britain's top ethnic minority policeman warned yesterday.
Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur said minority civic leaders must realise that 'crime within their own communities is their problem and they must take a lead in sorting it out.' Otherwise, he said, minorities suffer twice - becoming victims of crime themselves while also seeing their children branded criminals.
