Margaret Harrison has seen a side of the Colorado mountains few kids get to see--the underside! She's a caver!
She crawls, scrambles, and climbs through things that most kids don't ever lay eyes on. That's part of what makes caving fun. "I mostly like exploring side passages that not many people go in and seeing the formations that not many people see," she says.
And you don't see many people, either. Caving isn't for everyone. "You have to be comfortable underground," Margaret says. "Most caves are wet and muddy and it's really dark."
But the darkness doesn't keep her from seeing all the fascinating underground rock and mineral formations, ...
