Elmont, N.Y. -- Driving a bus in Mexico City will teach a young man a thing or two about managing traffic. Victor Espinoza put some of those navigational skills to use when he became a jockey, but the horse who lifted him to fame required more braking than steering.

War Emblem needed a rider who could ration his natural speed and get him to relax on the lead. Espinoza, 30, handled the colt beautifully in winning the Kentucky Derby and Preakness.
