The guys behind the Great Dane Pub and Brewing Co., Madison's first brew pub, are now poised to bring one to Fitchburg, too.
College buddies Eliot Butler and Rob LoBreglio, who opened the Great Dane in 1994, are completing lease negotiations for a spot in the new Hatchery Hill retail center on Fish Hatchery Road, and hope to begin customizing the space by the end of July. They are looking to late fall for a possible opening date.
"It's not a signed deal yet but it is getting pretty close," Butler said.
The new brew pub will not be called the Great Dane, he said.
