NIT NURSES might be a long-lost breed but parents across Wales are wishing head lice were as well.
For schools in Wales are doing battle with a plague of the pernicious little parasites and some children have been infested 10 times or more.
The nit nurse, whose duty it was to tour schools in a never-ending struggle to keep head lice at bay, were dispensed with years ago and the role passed to parents.
But in practice those checks are not being undertaken and schools throughout Wales are having to contend with lice ...
