TOKYO -- Standard & Poor's today assigned its preliminary ratings to UFJ Tower Inc.'s JPY62 billion specified bonds (tokutei shasai) classes A through F due 2007. The bonds are ultimately backed by The UFJ Tokyo building located in Otemachi, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. This is the first transaction rated by Standard & Poor's to utilize a specified share trust (a Japanese charitable trust, or tokutei mochibun shintaku), as regulated by Japan's Asset Liquidation Law.
The preliminary ratings are based on information as of June 11, 2002. Subsequent information may result in the assignment of final ratings that differ from the preliminary ratings. Final ratings will be ...
