Don Storhoff, the recently retired president of Foremost Farms USA once said that the only way the Midwest would stay competitive in the changing dairy industry was to "knock the rust off the infrastructure." In fact, that idea has been somewhat of a guiding principle for the Baraboo, Wis. cooperative since it was formed through the consolidation of two Wisconsin cooperatives in 1995, and it continues today under the leadership of President Dave Fuhrmann.
