TORONTO -- On Monday, Toronto Raptor Vince Carter was joined by Toronto Mayor Mel Lastman, several media personalities and some of Canada's top urban music recording artists to announce the return of his Summer Jam fundraiser. The launch event took place in the Raptors practice facility at Air Canada Centre and saw performers such as Velvet Empire - of TV's Pop Stars fame, and hip-hop artist Choclair try their luck at sinking baskets for dollars. Each basket earned Children's Aid Foundation $250. The NBA star took a few shots himself raising the total donation to $15,000 from Carter's Embassy of Hope Foundation.
