NEW YORK -- Starting today, a local call from Verizon payphones on the streets of New York will cost only 25 cents for a four-minute call.
"Because callers from street-side phones in New York typically make brief calls, we believe 25 cents for four minutes is a better deal for them than the old price of 50 cents for an unlimited call," said Paul Francischetti, vice president of marketing and business development for Verizon Public Communications which operates Verizon payphones.
