The highest rated program in PBS history will be better than ever on September 17, 2002, when Warner Home Video (WHV) and PBS Home Video bring Ken Burns's "The Civil War" to DVD for the first time.

Digitally remastered, "The Civil War" DVD will feature collectible packaging, a new 5.1 sound mix of the original mono soundtrack, and exclusive special features on 5 discs. Additionally, a remastered and more compact VHS edition (5 cassettes rather than the set's original 9) will also be available.
