2002 JUN 24 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Orthofix International (OFIX) announced that, through an approximately $2 million research grant given by the company to Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF), a study is under way to define the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying bone-healing in response to pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) technology.
This study is being conducted at the Lerner Research Institute of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, under principal investigator Mark Grabiner, PhD, professor and director, school of kinesiology, University of Illinois.
