MIAMI -- With awards totaling nearly $1.8 million during 2002, the Burger King Scholars Program is awarding scholarships to 1,797 high school seniors from every state in the country plus Canada and Puerto Rico to continue their education -- making it one of the largest scholarship programs in the nation. Announced by Steven M. Lewis and Christopher E. Clouser, co-chairmen of the Burger King/McLamore Foundation, which administers the Burger King Scholars Program, each student will receive a $1,000 scholarship to attend college or post-secondary vocational/technical school.
