PHILADELPHIA -- Pennsylvania Gov. Mark Schweiker today urged President George W. Bush to support US Airways' application for a federal loan guarantee from the Air Transportation Stabilization Board (ATSB).
The ATSB, established as part of the federal Air Transportation Safety and System Stabilization Act signed by President Bush on Sept. 22, 2001, is authorized by Congress to compensate eligible air carriers for losses incurred as a result of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
