DALLAS _ Children and adults possess a kind of cell that may be able to grow into more types of tissue than previously thought possible, opening new avenues for treating disease, scientists reported Thursday.
If the new research progresses as hoped, then one day patients may be able to supply cells to repair their own ailing liver, heart, brain and many other tissues.
