DO WE really need another reworking of Alexandre Dumas's The Three Musketeers? On the evidence of this latest effort, The Musketeer, not really.
It is a workaday piece with a cast who don't appear to be trying too hard (notable exception Tim Roth), pretty scenery and a screenplay which would be unexceptional in any age.
The gimmick here is that the fight scenes are executed in a martial arts, Matrix fashion.
Frankly, they look rather silly as a result with D'Artagnan doing pointless backflips and climbing up walls when fighting a gang of opponents.
That apart, Hyams's direction is surprisingly humdrum with writer Gene Quintano not ...
