The U.S. Embassy in Managua has provided this recent report on domestic pharmaceutical production capacity in Nicaragua:
Manufacturing: According to the Ministry of Health (MINSA), Nicaraguan laboratories do not manufacture any kind of pharmaceutical products. However, some laboratories import bulk pharmaceutical products to assemble tablets, capsules, drops and ointments into final consumption products. The level of production sophistication is limited to packing and labeling of pharmaceutical products;
