CONSUMERS POWER, PSI ENERGY PLAN TO INTERCONNECT SYSTEMS

JACKSON, Mich., Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Michigan's largest utility, Consumers Power Company, and Indiana's largest electric utility, PSI Energy, today announced plans to interconnect their electric utility systems with construction of a new 345-kilovolt transmission line between Battle Creek, Mich., and Akron, Ind.

The cost of PSI Energy's share of the project is about $50 million. Consumers Power's share is about $55 million. The transmission facilities are planned to be in operation by December 1992. The companies will file within the next several weeks for approval by the Federal Energy ...
