COBURG CLEANUP: Two years after the popular Mr. Lustre car wash on Coburg Road in Eugene was demolished, a former banker is moving ahead with plans to put in a new car wash nearby.
Eugene resident Jim Wilson has submitted plans to the city for his $500,000 project, which he hopes to begin building later this year and open by next January.
The car wash would be at Coburg Road and Frontier Drive, about a quarter-mile northeast of the Oakway Center shopping mall. It would go on a lot now occupied by a coffee stand and a shuttered gas station.
