More and more restaurants in Wisconsin have banned smoking over the last decade.
The Wisconsin Initiative on Smoking and Health, an antismoking group, estimates 2,500 of the 15,000 restaurants in the state now prohibit smoking, said Jack Lohman, the group's founder.
He said that compares with about 65 when the group was formed in 1991.
"Over the last 10 years you've seen an increase in the number of restaurants that have gone smoke-free voluntarily," said Kathi Kilgore, director of government operations for the Wisconsin Restaurant Association.
