GUCCI AMERICA DROPS HANDBAG WHOLESALING
NEW YORK - Gucci America, Inc., announced Tuesday that it is discontinuing its wholesale distribution of handbags, small leather goods and scarves.
Domenico De Sole, president and chief executive officer of the Secaucus, N.J.-based company, said the firm's decision was part of its new marketing plan. He said, "We've always had a great relationship with the retailer, but we believe our new marketing plans will be better accomplished through Gucci's own stores."
