WIRRAL'S wannabe Wimbledon winners will get to taste the thrill of victory and pain of defeat even earlier in a new junior league.
The peninsula's under-eights' league is up and running at a pilot stage and is due to begin for real in September.
Cheshire mini-tennis development officer Graham McTaggart said the element of competition had been missing at that level of junior tennis.
``If you think of under-eight football, those players get a game against other teams every week, and it is the same in rugby, cricket, you name it.
