MANHATTAN -- If you host it, they will come.
Twenty-one Kansas State University students will get a chance to live their dream, and rub elbows with professional golfers and others in the golfing industry as they serve as volunteers for the Women's U.S. Open, hosted by Prairie Dunes Golf Course, Hutchinson.
According to Jack Fry, associate professor of horticulture, forestry and recreation resources, the unpaid internships are a "chance of a lifetime opportunity." The interns will be given various tasks ranging from watering and mowing greens to raking sand traps.
