THE USSR'S MARKETING MOVES

The national economy of the USSR has a complex and differentiated structure. In industry alone there exist more than 300 different sectors. Per capita gross national product is about $4,900 in U.S. currency.

The existing economic management is based on a system of state and social development of the USSR. The process of "perestroyka" was speeded to a certain extent by a number of negative trends culminating in the beginning of the 1980s. which led to serious problems in the economy and social life of the USSR. This caused stagnation of production and social development.
