NEW YORK -- The good news? The diffusion of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Europe is underway, and if the ICT revolution in Europe looks familiar there is good reason. It appears that ICT diffusion in Europe is following a remarkably similar pattern across industries to that experienced in the United States. Similarities also exist between the distribution of productivity growth across industries. Moreover, in ICT-producing industries, Europe's productivity gains parallel those in the United States.
