Business owners with neon signs in Itasca's historic district could keep them, but new ones wouldn't be allowed under a sign ordinance village officials soon will begin to hammer out.
Trustees on Tuesday night set up that guideline and others regarding the kinds of signs that can be placed in the village's central core. The group decided its overall sign ordinance needed an overhaul.
If an existing business that has neon signs closes or is bought, the new owners cannot install another neon sign in its place
