CDR Roundup--Buoyed by the rising tide of consumer health awareness, and the attendant movement toward sugarless products, the gum market is expecting another big year in 1990. Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. group vice president Ron Cox says, "We are seeing a 35% to 40% increase in factory units for Extra sugar-free gum alone. The sugar-free gum growth to date is up 22% in terms of factory units; Extra is up 45%."
