New census figures indicating Colorado commuters spent more time in their cars and increasingly drove to work alone is a recipe for gridlock in the coming decade, a top transportation planner warned.
``It's a pretty scary trend,'' said Bill Vidal, executive director of the Denver Regional Council of Governments, an area planning agency. ``If it continues, we're going to be in complete gridlock.''
