DICK TRACY STYLE DESIGNERS EYE DAPPER FLATFOOT
Dick Tracy isn't the one-dimensional comic-book character most people remember.
With his deft pen strokes, creator Chester Gould dressed the durable detective in his trench coat, fedora, dark suits and repp ties -- and a lot more.
He actually made Tracy something of a fashion plate who dressed for duty, covert action and even nights on the town when he put on black tie. The comic strip sleuth even wore duffle coats, smart blue blazers, hawaiian sport shirts and coconut straw hats as he dashed around the globe over the years.
