"London is one of the hippest, most sophisticated cities in the world," says Adrianne Pieczonka, who has lived there since 1995. She's well qualified to make such judgements, having come a long way from her birthplace of Burlington, Ont. In her professional travels, she's become acquainted with the urban centres of North America, with the distinguished capitals of Mittel-Europa and also with warm-blooded cities in Italy, Spain and even Argentina.
Yet it's on the banks of the Thames that she now makes her home--quite literally, as she lives right on the river, in an Edwardian apartment in the South Bank community of Barnes. Quite neglected by most London tourist ...
