If it would have been May, or even earlier this month, the bullpen relay would have begun before the sixth inning Saturday.
That's how the Twins have thrived for three months. But the relievers can't continue the heavy workload, so righthander Matt Kinney had to take his lumps as the Milwaukee Brewers rolled to a 10-2 victory at the Metrodome.
Acting manager Scott Ullger left Kinney (2-7) in for six innings to avoid an early call to the bullpen. Milwaukee collected five runs and 11 hits off Kinney, including three homers. Kinney walked two.
