BOSSIER CITY, La. -- Amid cheers from hundreds of guests, VIPs, visiting dignitaries and area residents, a ceremony on Monday, July 1 kicked off the Grand Opening of Boomtown Casino & Hotel in Bossier City, at the location formerly known as "Casino Magic."
The sweeping $23.5 million renovation and expansion project moved into party mode as the property's landmark, state-of-the-art pylon sign was lit and the casino officially opened as "Boomtown." At 165 feet, the sign is the largest of its kind east of Las Vegas and features a massive plasma video screen and a changeable reader board.
