At Sensors Expo Spring 2002, the editors of Sensors launched a new awards program. We found it necessary because this time we also changed the deadline structure for the Best of Sensors Expo awards. Time was when the editors would visit every booth the first day of the show, take nominations on site, and then put in about six hours of judging that evening so we could present the awards the next day. Well, we're getting too old--or too smart--for that. We now require all nominations to be made ahead of time. But fearing that we might discover some worthy new products that did not make the pre-show nomination deadline, we devised the Eureka! awards, which honor significant ...
