Northrop Grumman [NOC] said yesterday that it hopes to close its proposed $7.8 billion acquisition of TRW [TRW] by the end of the year, and both companies said that they foresee no regulatory hurdles to the transaction.
Northrop Grumman CEO Kent Kresa told reporters in a conference call that DoD, the Department of Justice, and the European Union should have no significant competitive concerns. "We expect the acquisition to close by the end of this year," he said.
Kresa said that he did not expect that Northrop Grumman will be required to divest any businesses. But he said that the combined company may have to change the structure ...
