SYNERGEN BEGINS CLINICAL TRIALS IN RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS PATIENTS
BOULDER, Colo., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Synergen Inc. (NASDAQ: SYGN) announced that testing of its anti-inflammatory agent, Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1ra), began this week in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
The initial clinical trials will focus on safety and appropriate dosing levels. Subsequent trials at medical centers across the United States will study IL-1ra's effectiveness in reducing the pain and joint destruction associated with advanced rheumatoid arthritis.
